Meet Our Team

Many Paths, One Spirit

We're a small but mighty team of St Joseph Secondary School Alumnae and friends with a passion for helping out our Alma Mater and Fiji community! Establishing our committee in 2005, each of our volunteers bring their own  unique skills and experiences to the team.

My career sustained my passion to travel the world and engage with people from all cultures. I am grateful to SJSS for the grounding I received to accomplish this. Now with two grandchildren, my life is a joy, witnessing their growth and innocence.

It is a privilege to be apart of the SJSS Committee (since its creation in 2005), giving back to the school and its community, and staying in touch with the Cluny Sisters.

Being a sixth generation Fijian born 'Kai valagi', SJSS was the cornerstone of my ability to navigate and thrive in today's multicultural world. The diverse spectrum of food, culture, and sensory experiences were the building blocks for my success in the Australian wine industry.

Being part of the xSJSS Committee keeps me grounded and engaged with my roots.

I am delighted to be involved with the Committee as it gives me a sense of purpose and fulfilment in helping to support and raise funds for the continuing upkeep of SJSS and the welfare of the Cluny Sisters. It is also a fun way of staying connected with past pupils and meeting new ones.

I joined the Fiji Times when I was 16.5 years of age - the youngest cadet journalist at the time. My mantra is 'Live, Love, Laugh and No Regrets' and I am truly grateful for a blessed life.

When I'm not working, travelling, or enjoying quality time with family and friends, doing things that bring me and my family joy is high on my agenda. It's been nearly 8 years since i joined this bunch and time has flown!

I am privileged to be a part of our xSJSS Sydney Committee and enjoy the sisterhood we share. I love life! I thoroughly enjoy learning new things everyday, no matter how small or insignificant. I also enjoy catching up and making memories with family and friends. Travel is next on the list of my favourite things to do.

But most of all I'm a proud wife, mother, mother-in-law, (first-time) grandmother, and sister... And I count my blessings everyday!

I work with a Federal Government agency - the Australian Communications and Media Authority (communications regulator).

I find it worthwhile being involved with the Committee because it enables me to keep in touch with past students who have a similar lived experience.

From ex Fiji Chinese Primary School (now Yat Sen School) and might be remembered as Loy Ying a long time ago, I finished school at SJSS as Head Girl!

It is an honour and privilege to be part of a like minded sisterhood, passionate in doing something tangible to support the school which shaped them.

I've grown up watching the great work that the xSJSS Alumnae have done for their community and was so happy to help out in any way!

I'm currently at university studying Social Work and I love to volunteer at church or with different services. I also enjoy travelling, spending time with friends, and especially spending time with my nephew!

I'm honoured to help out this wonderful group of ladies.
