Canberra and Floriade Day Trip
22nd September 2018
In Canberra’s Commonwealth Park, September is celebrated with the biggest flower festival in the Southern Hemisphere - The Floriade, a once in a lifetime experience. Flowerbeds are made up of over a million blooms and you’ll have 2 hours to wander at your leisure to admire this unique and amazing display. You can have lunch here with time to sit back and enjoy the colour, perfume and exuberance of this floral tribute to Spring - an experience not to be missed.
Then on to explore the National Capital’s important icons: a drive past National Embassies (including Fiji’s Consulate of course) along Lake Burley Griffin to our wonderful Parliament House and War Memorial. We have an hour at each to wander at our leisure (or follow me). Then our coach will take us up Mt Ainslie for a farewell look at the city of Canberra and a strong New Year’s resolution to return again soon!
